STAR GAZING:  It's difficult to find a location in Florida that is further removed from urban and suburban light pollution than visiting Florida Prairie. Visitors have the chance to see stars, planets, and other celestial bodies in incomprehensible numbers and unforgettable brilliance. Along with Jupiter and Saturn, both clearly visible in the night sky, the International Space Station and Space Shuttle (when in orbit) can also be seen making their orbits around the Earth.

It doesn't matter if you are a Florida resident or not, there are plenty of top torist attractions such as Disney, Universal Studio and Islands of Adventure, Busch Garden, or Sea World. The warm Florida climate allows campers to experience all of what Florida has to offer year round. You are never far from a beach. This means fising, boating, kayaking and surfing are all within an hour.  

Central South Florida is a true tropical climate toward the southern part of the state and the Florida Keys. Therefore, weather should be a consideration when planning your trip. For example, camping in the middle of July in the Keys is not for the faint of heart because the heat might be overwhelming. Research the campsite thoroughly before planning your trip. Be sure to call and ask park administrators any questions you might have pertaining to camping. Ask about, for example, rates per night, accessibility to Florida desintations, fishing and hunting options, possible RV connection and busy seasons.

Amazing Place!
It was amazing how far and wide the view was from your tower, we got up in it just in time to watch the hole sky turn red and purple during the sunset from tower.
The drive in the State park and all the deer we saw from our vehicle was awesome.
The Dinning in town was really delicious, we found this Fantastic Sea food restaurant called Lightsey's, on the NW side of Lake Okeechobee and they had all kinds of sea food along with some interesting local dishes, Cooter, Pumpkin bread and I didn't know Frog legs taste like Chicken Breast.
I never realized just how much I missed horse riding, we will be back again real soon .
